The II. The music library of Ferenc Rákóczi Library opened on 1 October 1974. This is where today's music and media library came into being. The collection currently contains more than 10,000 scores, including vocal and instrumental classical music, as well as light music scores, operas, operettas, folk music works, blues and jazz music. The collection includes music CDs and vinyl records. In addition, our readers can borrow music books, audiobooks and DVD films. You can read our music journals locally, and you can also listen to CDs in the music section.
We pay special attention to musical education. Endre Kerekes, a university student, regularly gives lectures on music history in the library, while the events of the Sándor Bócz Friends of Opera Club are attended primarily by opera enthusiasts.
We cooperate with several institutions of the city, so that we could receive the instruments of the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra, which are no longer used today, so that our visitors can see a permanent exhibition of musical instruments.
