the Ferenc Móra Library

Mora Francis Library

The Móra Ferenc Library has been operating in the heart of the Avas housing estate, in the new wing of the Avas High School since 2008. On May 17, 2010, he took the name of the writer and museologist with several ties to Miskolc. In his honor, every year on May 17, the library organizes the Móra Memorial Day. In the nearly 15,000-volume library, besides the basic professional books, educational publications, classical works, you can find the works of today's writers, as well as popular volumes and compulsory readings among young people. Kindergarteners and primary school children can choose from a selection of books suitable for their age and interest in the book corner designed for them. Writer-reader meetings, children's programs, handicraft workshops and chamber exhibitions offer meaningful recreation opportunities for those living in the housing estate.
