Databases

Within the framework of the Electronic Information Service (EISZ) national programme, the academic databases available electronically are the Academic Digital Archive, the Academic Publishers Online Journals, the Academic Publishers Mersz, the Academic Publishers Dictionary.net, the L?Harmattan Digital Database, the Osiris Digital Database and the TIT Thought Publishers. Enrolled readers of Ferenc Rákóczi Library can access them remotely, even from home, with so-called eduID access.

For remote/eduID access, the username is always the number of the reader's ticket, and the password is normally the month and day of birth. (0405 for April 5th).

Description: The package includes full text access to all periodicals and archives published by the publisher, including medical journals previously organized in a separate database. The full-text database presents new results in the most diverse fields of natural sciences, social sciences and medical sciences. The journals, which are the preferred publication forum of Hungarian researchers, have been referred without exception, most of them have an impact factor, and some of them have grown to become the most important journals in the given field of science worldwide.
The EISZ contract includes the publication of an unlimited number of Open Access articles if their corresponding author is a researcher of the subscribing institution.

Description: The Hungarian Electronic Reference Service of the Akadémiai Publisher contains nearly 800 manuals, specialized books, academic textbooks and notes in Hungarian language, as well as the issues of the Hungarian Science journal published since 2017 in full text. The selection of works is expanded with 100-200 titles per year. On the interface, publications are presented in searchable, individually annotated, referencable form. Description: Dictionary.net offers general, common language dictionaries from English, German, Finnish, French, Chinese, Latin, Dutch, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Serbian and Slovenian languages, as well as specialist language databases in English and German. Hungarian monolingual dictionaries include the 12th edition of The Rules of Hungarian Spelling, the Dictionary of Foreign Words and Expressions, the Hungarian Interpretative Manual Dictionary and the Hungarian Synonym Dictionary. Description: Hundreds of journals, gazettes, academic publications, yearbooks, weekly and daily newspapers, encyclopaedias and manuals can be found in full text in the database providing Hungarian content. ADT is one of the largest online collections of 19th-20th century Hungaricums, an important source of Hungarian cultural, social and economic history. The collection consists mainly of 20th-century publications, but there is also a wealth of 19th-century and, less frequently, 21st-century texts.

Description: The USC SOÁ Foundation's Visual History Archive contains more than 55,000 video interviews with genocide survivors and witnesses. The interviews were recorded in 41 languages in 62 countries. The database contains 1,335 interviews in Hungarian, as well as thousands of other interviews about the Holocaust with Hungarian relevance, recording Hungarian experiences in other languages. The content is also supplemented by special material commemorating the genocide in Rwanda, Guatemala and Armenia, as well as the massacre in Nanjing, China.
